Getting Started

  • Custom URLs are available to all paid users (Artist plans and above) but not on the Basic or free plan. If you need to upgrade to a plan with Custom URL support, complete that step here.
  • Before publishing your Custom Domain or Custom Subdomain to your FFM account, be sure you have first created and successfully configured that option through your domain registrar.
  • To decide between the two Custom URL types, think about how you want your Smart Links to be formatted and which domains you have access to.
  • Both Custom Domains and Custom Subdomains can be verified and used for custom conversion ads in Facebook (Meta).

Custom Domain

A Custom Domain would format your URL like this: https://yourwebsite.com{abc123}

  • The domain you use here cannot be used for any other purpose. For example, if you use https://yourwebsite.com for your official website, you can not use the same domain on Feature.fm; you would need to either purchase a separate domain or create a subdomain off of your primary domain (see Custom Subdomain).
  • You verify this domain for use on Feature.fm by publishing an A Record to your domain registrar and then following these steps.

Custom Subdomain

A Custom Subdomain would format your URL like this: https://{sometext}.yourwebsite.com/abc123

  • Use this option if you already have a primary domain (e.g. for your website) and want to build your Smart Link URLs off of this existing domain. For example, if your official website is at https://yourwebsite.com and don't want to purchase a separate domain, you could create a CNAME (aka Custom Subdomain, e.g. https://music.yourwebsite.com) and create your Feature.fm landing pages using this subdomain which keeps your official website intact.
  • You verify this domain for use on Feature.fm by publishing a CNAME to your domain registrar and then following these steps.

Now that you understand the difference between URLs made with a Custom Domain vs a Custom Subdomain, follow the instructions here to publish your custom URL which you'll complete on the Account Settings > Custom Domains page.
