Step 1: Start your free trial

The second step in getting your new account setup for success is to set up your default marketing settings. We'll start with just a few of the basics to get you going.

Entering your retargeting pixels will allow you to target ads to fans who have engaged with your Feature.fm landing pages in Facebook Ads. &amp; Google Ads.

<li>Get your retargeting pixels from your Facebook Business Manager and Google Ad Account (<a href="https://featurefm.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042887892-Where-to-find-and-create-your-retargeting-pixels-on-FB-Google-Ads" target="_self">Where to find them</a>)</li>
<li>Enter your Facebook Ads &amp; Google Ads Retargeting Pixels in the right fields.</li>

Using custom sub-domains allows you to add your own branding to your ffm.to URLs. For example, you can add your artist name, album name, label name or other custom branding before "ffm.to" such as <a href="https://higherground.ffm.to/MMXX">https://higherground.ffm.to/MMXX</a>
<ol>
<li>Find the section called "Sub Domains" in your account's default link settings.</li>
<li>Enter any sub-domain you want to use in your account</li>
<li>If it's available, you'll see a green check mark and you can add your new domain</li>

"Localization" settings allow you to set different stores and store orders for fans who click your links from different countries. For example, if a fan clicks from France, you might want Deezer to be the first store, but if a fan clicks from the US, you might want Spotify or Apple Music to be the first store.
Let's start with adding just 1 country to your "Localization" settings.

<li>Find the section called "Localization"</li>
<li>Search for or find any country of your choice from the drop down and click "Add Territory"</li>
<li>Once you add the territory, you can drag and drop the store order for that territory if you wish</li>

Now just click "Save" and you're ready to move on to Step 3.

Step 2: Set up your default settings for the account 

As a Business Accouont you can add multiple "Artist Folders" to organize your work by artist. The Artist Folders will inherit the Default Settings from your Account Default Link Settings that you've entered on Step 2. You can also override the Link Settings for each Artist Folder so each Artist can have different link settings.

Create your first artist folder by selecting the + icon on the home page.  This will allow you to organize your links by artists.

Enter in the artist name, upload a photo for the folder, and set the country for the artist.

Make sure to fill in all the social links so you don’t have to enter them at a later date when you’re creating a link or action page.

After you save your new artist folder, you will be able to go back in to edit the Artist Link Settings. We'll start with assigning the Sub-Domain you created in Step 2.
Sub Domains can be assigned to Artist Folders so you can use them across any links you create under that Artist Folder. The Sub Domains assigned to Artists come from your Account Default Settings so you'll need to add the Sub Domain there first.

<li>Find the Artist Folder in your "Artists" Dashboard and click "Artist Settings"</li>
<li>Toggle to "Link Settings" </li>
<li>Find where it says "Sub Domains" and choose the Sub Domains you want to assign to this artist folder.</li>

Now that you’ve filled out the artist folder settings, you're ready to go create your first link.

Step 3: Create your first artist folder (Skip this step if you’re an artist account)

Your Bio Link is the home base to your latest release, video, merch, tour, website, press coverage - place it in all of your social media bios like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok &amp; Facebook. Add links to anywhere and everywhere like websites, streaming and social media, embed follow buttons and email sign up forms.
If you signed up as an artist or created an artist folder with at least your Spotify URL, then your Bio Link will be created Automatically. Then you can follow the below steps to customize it.

Each artist and artist folder has a Bio Link attached to it. Find it in the upper right of the artist's profile and click edit.

Fill in your basic settings on your Bio Links page

<li>Upload an image as the main image on your landing page. We recommend using a photo of you or the artwork from your latest or upcoming release. </li>
<li>Fill in your title and description with the artist name and a welcome message for your fans</li>
<li>Customize your background of the Bio Links landing page. Set either a custom color or upload an image. </li>

Now add some buttons to your Bio Links landing page. We can get started with just a few of the basics:

<li>A link or action button to get your audience to interact with your landing page</li>

To add a button, click "+Add New Button" and then choose the type of button you want to add.

Let's set up your first button and add an embed of your current release or an older one as a YouTube, Soundcloud or Spotify URL. Once you've decided on it click add button for the next addition.

The next button will be adding an email subscribe button to allow you to collect emails from visitors to your page. You can also edit the color of the button by clicking on the A.

The last button we suggest adding is a link or action button. You can add a link as we did in the example to a pre-save if you'd like to promote a new release. You can also add an action button so you can prompt a user to save a release to their library on Spotify or Apple Music.

Turn on your social icons by going to the "Social Icons" section and flipping on the switch.. Click save and you're ready for the next step.

Step 4: Create your Bio Link landing page

Depending on the type of release you would like to promote, you can choose to create a Pre-Save or Smart Link. 
Pre-Saves are used to promote releases that have not yet come out so you can market to fans ahead of your release date.
On Feature.fm, your Pre-Release links automatically convert to released Smart Links when your music comes out on release day and pulls in stores automatically. Most links in Feature.fm start as a Pre-Save, so you can follow the instructions below to create your first Pre-Save.

Set you release date and time that your music will be coming out. This will be used to complete your Pre-Saves and convert your link into a released Smart Link.

We suggest using an ISRC or UPC. If you do not have this yet, leave it blank and add it later. Don't worry, your pre-saves and pre-releases will still work.

You can customize where you want fans to go after they pre-saves on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Tidal by entering in a post pre-save destination URL for further promotion (Hint: use this to push an exclusive merch item or a livestream).
For Spotify you can enter "Multiple Follows" meaning fans will also your Artist Profile, a Playlist or a User when they Pre-Save. You can enter up to three items for your fans to follow including a playlist, an artist profile, or a user profile.

Give the rest of the stores you've selected a once over and click Next.

Your URL starts with "ffm.to/" and you can customize what comes next. You can also select to use the Sub-Domain you entered in your Account Settings.

You can upload an image or can enter in a URL for your release from your distributor to automatically import the artwork. 
If you want to use a music clip or YouTube video, you can select one from many of the DSPs.

You can adjust the Title of your release to be something a bit more on brand for your voice. The next aspect to edit is the Pre-Release and Post-Release copy where you can set the copy for before and after your release so you don't have to update on release day.

Take a look at the rest of the settings including your store order to make sure it's displayed how you'd like it to look.

Emails are a huge part of any release campaign so make sure on the next page called, Email Collection, you have it toggled on to capture as many emails as you can.

<h3>9. Turn on Social Icons (Optional)</h3>
You can include your social links on the landing page. You can turn these on so they can be displayed on your landing page.

Your social cards control what your link previews look like when you share on social media like Twitter and Facebook. Customizing this image will ensure your links look great when you share.
Edit your social cards for Facebook and Twitter on the next page for it to reflect exactly what you want shared.

On the Advanced Settings page, if you’ve entered in your retargeting pixels, you will be able to capture retargeting events you can use to advertise on Facebook, Instagram and Google. Your pixels will be included here automatically if you added them correctly in your Account Settings on Step 1. Otherwise, you can enter them here.

Congrats you just created your first Pre-Save Link.

Step 5: Create your first landing page (Pre-Save or Smart Link)

After you click save on your link, you will be taken back to the Artist Folder and you can click on the blue button that says Get Link.

Here you will find automatically generated links for you to share on your social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube on the Organic Channels tab. This will allow you to keep track of where your traffic is coming from when you share your landing page.

If you’re planning on doing any paid advertising, we’ve got you covered with links to keep track of traffic to your Feature.fm landing page from those ads. Just head over to the Paid Channels tab and you can use these links split up by the platform you might be doing ads on.

Step 6: Share it across all your social platforms

Now you’ve shared your link on your social media platforms and want to see what has happened. 
If you click on the graph icon next to the Get Link button this will take you to your Insight page that will show you all the analytics for your link.

Audience tab which shows you how many fans pre-saved, demographic data from the streaming service they pre-saved on, and email addresses collected which you can export as a CSV to upload to your newsletter service. 
These insights set you up to get a grasp of all your traffic from fans and can inform you on many different parts of your Pre-Save or Smart Link campaigns.

Feature.fm Community

Yes! If you’ve connected your SoundCloud to Feature.fm, you can use SoundCloud as a login option, as well as via a connected Facebook account, and email and password. 
If you created your account via SoundCloud and have yet to set a password, go to the <a href="https://login.feature.fm/forgot">Reset Password</a> page and use the email address used to create your account. Follow the prompts to set the password you’d like to use going forward.

I signed up for Feature.fm via SoundCloud, can I login via email and password?

If you disconnect your SoundCloud account from Feature.fm, the available discounts from SoundCloud on your Feature.fm will be removed as those offers are exclusive to active SoundCloud users.
If you were on the Basic Artist plan from SoundCloud and then disconnect SoundCloud, you will be moved to the Free plan on Feature.fm, as that plan exists only for those with an active SoundCloud connection.

What happens if I disconnect my SoundCloud account?

If your connected SoundCloud account’s Next subscription level changes, the available discounts on your Feature.fm account will update as well to match. You can always review the available Feature.fm discounts for the corresponding SoundCloud tiers here. 
If you have upgraded your connected SoundCloud plan to the Next Pro level and have not seen the changes reflected on your Feature.fm account, disconnect then reconnect SoundCloud on the <a href="https://console.feature.fm/account/profile">General Settings</a> on Feature.fm and you should see the available offers will match for Next Pro users.

What happens if my SoundCloud plan changes?

Yes! All you have to do is navigate to the Accounts Settings &gt; <a href="https://console.feature.fm/account/profile">General Settings</a> page and connect your SoundCloud account. After successfully connecting, you’ll be prompted to choose how you’d like to continue from the range of available discounts.

I already have a Feature.fm account. Can I get this deal?

You’ll find where you can register for a new Feature.fm account with the SoundCloud deal included by going to our <a href="https://feature.fm/partners/soundcloud">SoundCloud Partner</a> page.
